Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Unpublished material revealed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in the editor's own research without written consent from the author.
Reviewer Responsibilities
Contribution to Editorial Decision
Peer review helps editors in making editorial decisions and, through editorial communication with authors, can also assist authors in improving the quality of their articles.
Timeliness
Reviewers who feel unqualified to review the research reported in a manuscript or realize that an immediate review is not possible should notify the editor and ask to be excused from the review process.
Confidentiality
Manuscripts accepted for review must be treated as confidential documents. They should not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.
Objectivity Standards
Reviews must be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
Recognition of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant works that have not been cited by the author. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument has been previously reported must be accompanied by the proper citation. Reviewers should also inform the editor of any substantial or overlapping similarities between the manuscript under review and other papers they are aware of.
Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Any information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal gain. Author Responsibilities
Reporting Standards
Authors of original research reports should present an accurate account of the work conducted and an objective discussion of its significance. The underlying data should be accurately presented in the paper. A paper should contain sufficient detail and references to allow others to replicate the work. Falsifying data or deliberately inaccurate statements are unethical behaviors and unacceptable.
Originality and Plagiarism
Authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if they have used the work and/or words of others, these should be properly cited or referenced.
Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication
Authors should not submit manuscripts describing essentially the same research to more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently is considered unethical and unacceptable publishing behavior.
Acknowledgement of Sources
Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite influential publications that have determined the nature of the reported work.
Authorship of Papers
Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported research. All who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. If others have participated in substantial aspects of the research project, they should be recognized or listed as contributors. The corresponding author must ensure that all co-authors are included, that no inappropriate co-authors are listed, and that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the paper and agreed to its submission for publication.
Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
All authors must disclose any financial or substantive conflicts of interest that might be perceived to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project must be disclosed.
Fundamental Errors in Published Works
When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, the author has an obligation to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper.
