Abstract

In the contemporary era marked by the rise of extremism, radicalism, and religious intolerance, understanding the values of Islamic moderation or wasathiyyah from the Qur'an is crucial for maintaining social harmony, especially in Indonesia as the largest Muslim country with high cultural and religious diversity. This study aims to comprehensively explore the concept of moderation from the verses of the Qur'an and its relevance in social life, as an antithesis to deviant ideologies that threaten peace. The research methodology uses a library research approach with thematic maudhui interpretation, collecting and analyzing Qur'anic verses related to the theme of moderation from various surahs. Primary data comes from the Qur'an, while secondary data includes tafsir books, journals, and relevant scientific works. The main conclusion confirms that the Quran presents comprehensive values of moderation, encompassing justice, balance, tolerance, and proportionality in faith, worship, morals, law, economics, social life, politics, education, the environment, and even digital media. These values are relevant as solutions to modern challenges such as globalization and polarization, with optimal implementation through the roles of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), Muhammadiyah, and government-community synergy.
